Lebanon - Neil O. Manchester, 69, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at his home in Lebanon, KS.
Neil was born November 24, 1951 in Beloit, KS, the son of Rufus and Bernice Evelyn (Barnett) Manchester. On June 8, 1977 Neil married Ronda Nonamaker in Kensington, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Evelyn Manchester, father and mother-in-law, Wilbur and Mary Lou Nonamaker, two brothers-in-law, Toby Colby and Royce Nonamaker, and a niece, Jolean Nonamaker.
When Neil was growing up he worked on the family farm with his dad, he continued helping his dad between his jobs outside of the farm until his dad's passing. Neil also ran a harvest crew that he treated like family when he was first married. Neil loved the sound of H or M Tractor's working in the fields, he always said they sounded like bumble bee's out in the distance. He had worked for the Smith County Road Department running a grader for over 20 years and also worked for Stortz Auction as a auctioneer from 2005-2020. Prior to working at Stortz's Auction, he enjoyed auctioneering in general and even was a part-owner with M&N Auction Company for several years. Neil just passed over 40 combined years of auctioneering with multiple companies. Neil enjoyed camping and going to sporting events when his kids where young, he also loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Neil is survived by his wife Ronda Manchester of Lebanon; a daughter, Carie Dawn Bohling of Fort Morgan, CO; a son, Christopher Neil Manchester and eleven grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 20, 2021 at All Faiths Funeral Chapel, 113 S. Madison St., Smith Center, KS, with Pastor Laura Beth Fricker officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 20, 2021, 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral Chapel. Burial will take place in the Odessa Cemetery, Jewel County, KS. Memorials may be given to the Neil O. Manchester memorial fund and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
