Doris V. Olson, 96, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Smith Center Health and Rehab, Smith Center, KS.

Doris was born May 20, 1928, the daughter of Clarence and Minnie (Peterson) Cooper. She married Ray Olson December 3, 1955, in Smith Center. They had 4 daughters, Connie (Royce) Ratliff, Phillipsburg KS, Cindi (Larry) Cole, Spearville KS, Cathi (Ross) Barr, Smith Center KS, Candi (Darrel) Shearer, Wright KS.

Doris loved children and cooking. She would babysit for other families while her own children were growing up. Her grandchildren never passed up the opportunity to spend a week or a summer at Granny’s house. Her love for cooking led her to owning her own café for a period of time and cooking in numerous restaurants, nursing homes, and a convenience store. She was a wonderful cook.

She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Minnie Cooper, her husband Ray Olson, her 2 brothers Charles and Harold Cooper, her sister Helen Flint, sister-in-law Mayme Cooper, brother-in-law Oren Flint, and 2 infant great-grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her 4 daughters, 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place, and no services are scheduled at this time.  Memorials may be given to the Doris V. Olson Memorial Fund and sent in care of the funeral chapel.
