Yvonne Renee (Arnold) Oliver, 61, of Osborne, KS passed away on February 9, 2025, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS. Yvonne was the daughter of Layton and Phyllis Arnold. She was born on December 16, 1963.
As a child, Yvonne attended school in Osborne and graduated in 1982 from Osborne High School. After high school she attended college at Colby Community College. She moved back to Osborne from Colby and worked at Pizza Hut for several years.
A pinch on the rear from Yvonne started what would become an incredible adventure with her husband, Dean. On April 13, 1985, Yvonne married Dean Oliver at the Alton Methodist Church in Alton, KS, where they began their beautiful life together. To this union, four children were born.
They lived in rural Lebanon, KS for many years, where Yvonne worked at Ladow’s Supermarket. She helped on the family farm and assisted Dean with their hog operation. In 1997 the family moved to Alton, KS after Dean became the manager of the Osborne Midway Co-op Elevator and she became the secretary at the Alton Midway Co-op Elevator. After this, they moved to rural Osborne where she worked for the FSA office, Ackerman’s True Value. On her days off, she would help the Osborne Livestock Commission, and later she was the secretary at Schellinger’s Plumbing and Heating for a number of years. As her children went through school, she could be found at their many sporting events where her voice was sure to be heard!
The most important title Yvonne held was mother. Her greatest accomplishment was becoming a mom to her four children, and it was the treasure of her life. She dedicated her life to her family and was always there with a listening ear and a big hug. Her unconditional love and support, and infectious laughter held the family together. Yvonne’s greatest joy came from spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She could often be found playing cards, catch, or anything else the grandkids asked her to do. She loved being outdoors in the garden and yard, going for walks, and fishing whenever she got the chance. Scrapbooking was something she spent many hours on, and she loved reliving the memories from each photo she put on the pages. In recent years, she loved getting on the motorcycle with Dean and seeing as much country as they could.
Yvonne will be remembered for her kindness, her love of God, and her ability to light up a room. Her legacy will live on through her family and all who were blessed to know her.
She is survived by her husband, Dean Oliver of Osborne; son Tanner Oliver and wife Jordyn, of Kensington, Kansas; daughter, Chelsey Oliver, of Manhattan, Kansas; son Trevor Oliver and wife Rikki, of Osborne, Kansas; Ashley Oliver of Kansas City, Kansas; 7 grandchildren; brother Roger Arnold and wife Juanita of Downs, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews. Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, Layton and Phyllis Arnold, and brother, Stephen Arnold.
