Lila Elaine Eller, 94, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 at Smith Center Health and Rehab.
She was born September 16, 1923 near Cedar, KS, the daughter of Otto and Vera (Cronn) Sears. On December 7, 1941 she married Cliffton M. Creamer, to this union they were blessed with their daughter Marva. Cliffton was killed in action serving in Germany in WWII. On November 27, 1946 she married Clyde W. Eller, to this union they were blessed with their daughter Jeannie Clydeen.
Lila kept busy throughout her 94 years as a housewife, mother, school teacher, telephone operator, hairdresser, beauty school instructor and working at Macys and Bell Telephone. When Lila wasn't busy working she enjoyed oil painting, crocheting, sewing, playing the piano and violin and gardening. She was also a member of the Smith Center Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband's, Cliffton M. Creamer and Clyde W. Eller, two sisters, Nina Meyers and Doris Swank, son-in-law Frank Chrispen, sister-in-law Bernadette Sears, brothers-in-law, Floyd Ferguson, Merle Swank and Burt Silsby.
Lila is survived by her two daughters, Marva Chrispen of Colorado Springs, CO, Clydeen (Gerald) Fortner of Bella Vista, AR.; three brothers, Harold (Phyllis) Sears of Topeka, James Sears of Smith Center; Gilbert Sears of Smith Center; sister Betty Silsby of Madison, AL; grandson Matthew (Christine) Chrispen of Bastrop, TX; two granddaughters Jamie Phelps of Colorado Springs, CO, Andra (Derry) Fritch of Hiwassee, AR; , two great granddaughters Lane and Faith Fritch of Hiwassee, AR; step-great granddaughter Marcy Phelps of Monument, CO; step-great grandson Taylor Adair of Monument, CO; brother-in-law Merle Meyers of Topeka and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Cedar Cemetery, Cedar, KS. There will not be a public visitation. Memorials may be given in her name in care of the funeral chapel.
