Liberty Hope Trail was born March 24, 1992 in Kansas City, MO. She passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney, NE.
Liberty was the daughter of Keri (Stephens) Chessmore and Charles David Ford and the very special daughter of Doug and Sherry Strayer. She attended Norton Schools, enjoyed girl scouts, playing the piano and gymnastics growing up and singing in the Jay Singers while in high school. Liberty completed her CNA and CMA certifications and was currently working at the Beaver City Manor and had worked at the Andbe Home in Norton. She loved her residents and was a true caregiver and was loved in return by all who received her care. On many occasions she took Raylynn to visit the residents. She enjoyed cooking and crafts, making many special gifts for relatives and friends, some of which are on display today. She was a member of the Norton Christian Church.
Liberty and Nicholas Trail were married this July 4th at the annual family celebration, which is enjoyed by friends and family. They have a daughter, Raylynn Dawn and a new-born son, Strayer Nicholas. Strayer weighed 2 pounds 8 oz. at birth and is doing well in Omaha in the neo-natal unit.
Family who survive her are: her husband - Nicholas of the home in Norton, daughter - Raylynn Dawn, son - Strayer Nicholas, her mother - Keri Chessmore, special parents - Doug and Sherry Strayer, great grandmother - Myrna Jones, great grandfather - Harold Stephens. Extended family - Tracy Stephens (Chelcie Hamilton), Kasey Slate, Joe (Emilee) Ford, Skye Ford, Maleeya Ford, Nakota Ford, Bryden Ford, David (Chylar) Ford, Cody Rogers, Aimee (Kevin) Colyer, Noah Fahey and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her father - Charles David Ford; Special Great Grandmother - Ruby Strayer and Great Grandmother - Ethel Ellis.
A celebration of Liberty's life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 13, 2018 at the Norton Christian Church, 208 N. Kansas Ave., Norton, Kansas, with Pastor Jeff Nielsen officiating. There will not be a public visitation as cremation was chosen. Memorials may be given to the Liberty Hope Trail Memorial Fund and sent in care of the funeral chapel.
