Osborne – Jack C. Metz, 76, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Osborne County Memorial Hospital, Osborne, KS.
He was born October 25, 1943 in Beloit, KS, the son of William M. and Jacqueline L. (Stephenson) Metz. He married Nancy Thompson on August 1, 1971 in Downs, KS. Jack was an over-the-road truck driver for most of his life, his motto was “Live Free, Die Free”
Jack was a member of First Christian Church of Downs, Osborne American Legion and VFW Auxiliary, Beloit Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star, Osborne Country Club and Gun Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jack is survived by his wife Nancy Metz of Osborne; two sons, Jack (Pam) Metz Jr. of Hutchinson, Warren (Diana) Metz of Mio, MI; half-brother Steve; half-sister Martha; six grandchildren and 16 ½ great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 17, 2020 at North Oak Creek Cemetery, Smith County, KS, with Pastor Dave Hardy officiating. Memorials may be given to Osborne Country Club or First Christian Church of Downs, KS, and can be sent in care of All Faiths Funeral Chapel, 113 S. Madison St., Smith Center, KS 66967.
